Your language is your reality

What are you telling yourself?

This self-talk malarky is never flippin’ ending, is it?

Yes, you know what I am talking about – that voice in your head. And if there’s a voice saying there is no voice. That’s the one.

Listen in.

What is it saying?

What is it repeating?

Knowing that we have 60-70,000 thoughts per day going around in our heads, and 90% of them are the same thoughts as the day before. What are you repeating to yourself? Every. Single. Day.

Your beautiful mind of yours loves to be programmed. It loves the repeated-ness of it all. It loves the same things going around and around in there.

Why?

It feels ‘safe’ that way.

Weird huh?

I know, right? It’s messed up and kinda cool at the same time.

I’m tired.

I’m tired.

I’m tired.

I’m tired.

Is anyone yawning yet? Or are you trying to suppress one?

Your mind ‘hears’ something – then tries the ‘thought’ on. Just to see if it ‘fits’, so to speak.

You can try this with anything really.

I am angry.

I am angry.

I am angry.

I am angry.

Anyone looking inside their brain for something to be angry about?

I am thankful.

I am thankful.

I am thankful.

I am thankful.

What about this one? Harder or easier to ‘try on’?

It’s interesting, isn’t it?

This also includes the stuff you are hearing around yourself every day. What are people saying around you? What are your work-mates saying day in and day out? What is your partner saying? Remember this doesn’t have to be directed at you – it just needs to be in your vicinity. Your brain will still do the same shit.

What about trying a few different thoughts today?

What about changing just one or two things that you tell yourself every day?

What is the worst that can happen?

Your language is your reality.

Enjoy the weekend.
