What I’m Learning Right Now (While Knee Deep in Stats)

Right now I’m knee deep in psychology statistics for uni and let’s just say the textbooks are winning. With little time or energy left for traditional reading I’ve been turning to learning on the go. Whether walking or driving I’m still absorbing ideas that spark curiosity and expand my perspective.
But just when I thought I couldn’t fit anything else in I threw myself into a completely different kind of study, and it reminded me exactly who I am.
I Passed My Reformer Pilates Instructor Training!
Straight after finishing my stats exam last week I dove into a weekend intensive of Reformer Pilates training. It was full on and totally worth it. 👏🏻
In between work and uni I carved out time to revisit the anatomy and physiology that first sparked my love for movement years ago. It was like coming home. The muscles the movement the biomechanics, it brought me right back to my personal training roots. 💪🏻
Passing the training felt like more than a certification. It felt like a reconnection. A reminder that I’m allowed to evolve and return to things I love with new eyes and deeper wisdom.

Book: Breaking the Habit of Being Yourself
Even in the midst of statistics I felt the call to revisit Dr Joe’s work. “Breaking the Habit of Being Yourself” is a deep reminder that we aren’t stuck in old patterns, unless we choose to be. Through intentional thought and elevated emotion we can quite literally change our biology and our future.
Dr Joe’s teachings have been part of my journey for many years and coming back to this book now feels like connecting to my inner compass again. It’s grounding and activating all at once. 🥰
What I’m Listening To:
🤯 The Telepathy Tapes
Podcast: Hosted by Ky Dickens
Link here: https://open.spotify.com/show/1zigaPaUWO4G9SiFV0Kf1c?si=933f6b8b5abe4419
This series explores the extraordinary inner world of non-speaking individuals with autism, people who have often been misunderstood or underestimated. It dives into topics like telepathy and non-verbal intelligence through emotional storytelling and personal testimonies. What I found most powerful is how it challenges the limits of what we believe about communication and the mind. It invites us to consider truths that have been hidden in plain sight and to hold space for deep respect beyond conventional understanding. A min-blowing series I highly recommend.
🧠 Essentials: Understanding & Healing the Mind with Dr Karl Deisseroth and Andrew Huberman
Podcast: Huberman Lab Essentials
Link here: https://open.spotify.com/episode/2344o9uy3tsaizOTxMJchQ?si=62a7b226ad1d4c64
This episode is packed with insight. Dr Karl Deisseroth is both a psychiatrist and a pioneering researcher in neuroscience. He speaks about treating complex psychiatric conditions and how emerging tools like optogenetics and brain-machine interfaces could reshape mental health care. The episode also touches on the potential of therapies like MDMA and psychedelics for healing trauma and depression. As someone who works with trauma and the nervous system I found this episode to be both exciting and affirming. It reminds me that healing is not linear, and the tools we use are evolving every day.
💗 A Little Reminder
Even in seasons where life feels full of structure and deadlines we are still learning. Still absorbing. Still growing in the pauses between effort.
Here’s a reflection I’ve been sitting with:
“What part of me is waking up again? And what would happen if I gave her the space to speak?”
🙏🏻
