You don’t know
I know.
I know.
I knew that.
Yep, I know.
My friend, do you hear that coming from yourself or others around you often? I call it the ‘I know syndrome’.
So many people will say “I knew about that” or “I know about that concept” or “I’ve worked with that stuff before. I know. I know. I know. I know” yet…! they’re still in the same predicament.
As a coach, I’ll ask people and say “Have you tried this? Have you thought about this? What have you learnt around X, Y and Z?” They’ll go…
“Yup, worked on that. Did that. I worked on this. I know. I know. I know, but something else is still stopping me”.
And here’s the thing.
That is the thing that’s stopping you!
Saying “I know” – but you’re not actually ‘knowing’, because you’re just logically saying “I know”. Perhaps even as a habit. Does that make sense?
On one level, you ‘know’ but subconsciously… you don’t actually know – which is the frustrating bit! Because that’s the bit holding you back.
When you find yourself saying “I know. I know. I know”…
STOP and ask yourself “Do I really know? Have I implemented this? Is this really my reality? Do I really know what I’m talking about? Do I know at another level?”.
Be brutally honest with yourself. Your ego will try to protect you…all that ‘I knowing’ has boosted your ego for too long and you actually have stopped yourself from REALLY knowing.
Bottom line is – that it’s totes ok not to know.
It’s absolutely ok to be open to the fact ,that you have ‘thought’ you knew, but you actually didn’t.
Getting in your own way is normal. Getting frustrated with yourself, is normal. So, let go.
Let go of trying to be right.
Let go of trying to do everything.
Let go of trying to be everything.
Let go of trying to ‘know’ everything.
Let go of that sh*t.
And breathe.
Then.
Start again.
From the basics. From YOU. What do you REALLY know? What do you know about YOU? – at a base level. What are your values? What are your beliefs? Then work from there.
Work with the real you first.
