How you can become the expert by writing an eBook – part 1

Gosh, where do I start with this one? It’s one tool I have been shouting about for quite a while as it’s so fucking easy to do!

Before I get too excited, let me answer the questions that may be already popping up as soon as you thought ‘I have to write a book?’…

Q. But I can’t write, and my grammar/punctuation/spelling is crap.

This is where incredible programs like the one I am using right now really help you. I use a system called Grammarly. There is a free version, but I write so much and seriously make so many errors when I write…I need all the help I can get! So I pay for mine – about $30AUD per month.

I simply type onto it, and on the right-hand side, I can see my errors in red appearing as I type. At first, it was a little unnerving, but now I love it! It corrects my shitty typing skills and allows me to create the text as it flows from my brain. Without getting caught up in the grammar/spelling/punctuation side of things.

You can, of course, use the spell check on WORD or whatever, but so far this shit is the bomb!

Q. I can’t type and don’t have the time to sit down at the computer and ‘write’ a book.

So don’t!

Yes, I type my books, but more often than not – I speak my books.

I record them onto an app called rev.com and send them away for transcription. I have mentioned this fantastic website already, and they really are brilliant as they don’t use bots to transcribe the words – they use human beings! The accuracy rate is about 97%, so you always need to re-check it…but for the $1USD per minute, it’s worth every cent!

I then run it through Grammarly to check for errors (and believe me, there are heaps!) and then I make sure it reads accurately.

I did a cool training recently all about how to create an eBook over here if you are interested. It’s one of the things I am great at, and I know that people can do quite easily time and time again.

Q. What the heck do I write about?

Well, if you have already read this eBook up to here…you should know by now! You are the expert in your field, and you have so much to say. You just gotta do it! My suggestion is that you ask a friend about what they would like to learn about your area of expertise…then go from there.

Q. I don’t have time to design it all and create it

So, get someone else to! Websites like Fiverr can help, or you can just watch the training I did recently here.

Websites like canva.com have templates you can use, or WORD/PAGES/GOOGLE DOCS also have great templates to use. Just remember to turn them into a PDF when you are finished as these can be read on all devices.

If you have a teenager, you could also convince them to help you out. #bribes
